Origins Counseling Dallas is a new venture for Origins Behavioral Healthcare. We are currently building a robust clinical program that serves the Dallas community via providing PHP, IOP and Outpatient services. Currently, we serve an adult female population suffering with co-occurring disorders through IOP and Outpatient services. In the near future, we will extend our continuum of care to encompass treating the adult male population while we adding PHP services to the individuals and families we get to treat. The Primary Counselors of the counseling center are a central ingredient in building this operation!
The Position
Working within an interdisciplinary team, Primary Counselors act as key player in a patient’s recovery journey, helping them to remove barriers that prevent them from finding a path leading to healing and freedom. Origins’ patients present with a variety of co-occurring disorders. Primary Counselors treat patients individually, addressing the particular clinical needs of each while integrating services provided by other members of the treatment team. In addition to conducting assessments and creating treatment plans, Primary Counselors facilitate individual and group therapy, teach psychoeducational material, and work with patients’ families all to support an integrated approach to co-occurring disorder treatment at one of the finest treatment facilities in the country.
This position is ideal for individuals interested in a stable substance use treatment setting with opportunity for ongoing supervision and training. Our clinical team utilizes a variety of best practice and holistic approaches including 12 step facilitation, EMDR, trauma informed care, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy and psychodrama.
The Qualifications
- Master’s Level clinicians such as LPC, LMSW or LCSW required
- Professional treatment experience preferred preferably in a residential or outpatient setting
- Trauma training and/or certification a huge plus
- If in recovery, two (2) years of continuous sobriety required
