Doing things that are harmful to ourselves has always been easy for us. It’s much harder for us to do things that are beneficial to us. In recovery, we learned that prevention is much better than having to fix something. We follow Step Ten to help prevent unhealthy actions from taking up our day, keeping mindful of our thoughts and actions. When negative thoughts and actions arise, we acknowledge them and turn to our Higher Power asking for direction, remembering to watch, pray, and take action.
Today, I will be awake to my thoughts and actions, turning to my Higher Power for guidance and strength to do the correct thing.
