“Willingness, honesty, and open-mindedness are the essentials of recovery.” — (Big Book, Page 568)
We must be honest with not only ourselves but our sponsor as well. Most of us were never honest with anyone. We must be open-minded to the idea that a Higher Power can help us stay sober, even if that idea starts with the simple concept of “if it works for them, maybe it can help me, too.” I must be willing to go to that meeting, call my sponsor, and work the 12-Steps. Willingness, honesty, and open-mindedness are the three things we must have in recovery if we plan to stay sober.
Today I will remember to be willing, honest, and to have an open mind. Today I will remember to carry this over to not only my recovery but in all areas of my life.
