“The goal of meditation isn’t to control your thoughts, it’s to stop letting them control you.” As we go through the day, we may find that we are tossed from thought to thought. For those of us in recovery, this can lead to a derailing of our efforts to maintain peace and serenity. Through a quieting of the mind, we can discover that we are no longer controlled by our thoughts and emotions.
Today, I will practice the art of stillness. When I notice that I am being tossed around by my thoughts, I will pause and rediscover my center.
