Elton John helps Eminem fight drug addiction January 3, 2010
Elton John recently told the BBC that he’s been helping rapper Eminem cope with drug addiction. Both Elton John and Eminem have a history of drug addiction. John is a former cocaine addict and alcoholic who has been sober for 16 years, and Eminem turned to him for help when he wanted to get sober himself. Eminem entered rehab in 2005 for an addiction to sleeping pills, but nearly overdosed on methadone after leaving rehab. He has since been sober for a year, and recently completed an album about his experience, titled “Relapse.”
Relapse is not an uncommon problem after a trip to rehab, but the program at Origins Recovery Center is designed to help Residents find long-term sobriety. Its custom-tailored approach is ideal for helping men who have relapsed in the past, identifying and addressing areas of difficulty. The innovative aftercare program helps Residents transition from the residential environment, and provides a year-long interaction that truly makes The Origin Experience a comprehensive program for addressing drug addiction.
